MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU

Travelled to a strange new place and
met up with a perfect stranger
Fell in love in just two days and
now I'm flying back in may

Former lovers have all faded
since I saw your pretty face
looking from behind your shades
wondering if I could take it?

Madly in love with you
I know that you know it too
I keep on telling you again
That forever I will be your man

Madly in love with you
I know that you know it too
I keep on telling you again
That forever I will be your man

Sleeping together on the floor
in a place you've never been before
Summer's just around the corner
saving up for much more

All around the world together
touring Europe with some friends and
wondering now what'll happen
making love down their in venice

Madly in love with you
I know that you know it too
I keep on telling you again
That forever I will be your man

Madly in love with you
I know that you know it too
I keep on telling you again
That forever I will be your man

MOTIVATION

One of those I wrote based upon a single line coming up over and over again. I needed some verses, didn't want some heavy tune, I wanted it to be light. When writing I always knew there'd be some slide guitar involved, though the Fender didn't work out so I used the Epiphone Dot Cherry for this one, creating a much heavier sound which worked a bit better. Originally the song length was a little over 4 minutes but I edited it down a few months later to what it is now.

It was written when my fiancee was worried about herself and whether she'd be able to enjoy the massive trip we'd do with her parents and her friends. I remember her crying on Skype after another fight with her mom and me thinking "she needs something more from me than just comforting words". I wrote this one the next day and played it for her and it actually helped more than I thought I would. She was still worried but it helped calm her down a lot and I saw her get more relaxed.

EXPLANATION

"Travelled to a strange new place" refers to me travelling to New York for the first time and then falling in love right away with someone I'd never met before.

"Looking from behind your shades"
refers to our day in New York. She'd kept her sunglasses on most of the day so I couldn't really see as to whether she was looking at me or not. I had my suspicions but never really knew for sure.

"Sleeping together on the floor in a place you've never been before" refers to her coming over and then needing to sleep on a mattras on the floor due to me not having a kingsized bed. I put two mattresses on the floor so we'd still be in the same bed.
